What is PING ?
|
This is the "9258-PING", it can be controlled webbased, but also performs automatic tasks by PING commands ! The new "Aviosys 9258 PING" can ping automatically to other IP-devices (server, computers, etc), totally 4 pcs that are connected. When no reply from the devices, the 9258-PING will automatically restart the corresponding power port for that device. Note : This function can of course only be used with devices that can be ‘pinged’. Ideal to reset your ADSL modem/router automatically (Watchdog function), or or to automatically reset servers that are crashed.

What is it ?
|
The IP 9258 can be controlled over TCP/IP network using generic Ethernet or Web browser without any software skill. Each independent outlet can be switched ON, OFF or Booted (OFF- delay-ON). IP9258 can supply maximum up to 7A/250VAC or 10A/120VAC Power. Uses internationally standard IEC 320 Inlet/Outlet connectors that make it easy to use anywhere in the world using locally available PC cables and adapters.

NoEcho Count: It means pinging times to be continued when failing to ping device. Range as: 1~231.

BeforeAction Delay (Seconds):It means the time between first ping which is fail and second ping. Range form1-231. It must be not bigger than the time of AfterAction Delay(Seconds)

AfterAction Delay(Seconds):It means time from delay action to next ping action.(Range:2-231)

AfterAction:it means to set up the action after second ping as first ping fail .

Continue : Keep ping after the number setting in NoEcho Count

StopPing : Stop ping after the number setting in NoEcho Count

Action:The Action (OFF、ON、Reset(OFFàON) after pinging.

Operation
|
The time of PingEchoWait (name T1) depends on Network Speed situation. Normally the ping time is shorter in Ethernet than in Internet. To promise T1>=10ms, the time of Ping interval (name T2) need check by T1. The time of T2 must be 4 times more than T1 : T2 >= 4 * T1. (4 means the relay number 9258 connect) The time of AfterAction Delay (Seconds) (Name T3) is based on the time your PC/ Server device turn on,For example : To efficient control the device , if One PC/device need 2 minutes to turn on, the number of T3 should be over 120 second. Besides that,when ping fail to contact with the PC/Server device,after the number/ times set in NoEcho Count, our 9258 will start ping command after time of T3. The number of NoEcho Count is n,when the times that ping fail to connect with PC /device is up to n , it will act the setting in Action “ON, OFF or RESET”.

If fail to ping device power1,it will record the times.
|

Continue to ping and record Power1 failing to ping once.
|

When NoEcho Count reach scheduled value n , it will stop to ping Power1.
|

At the same time it will act as scheduled and send out a email for emergency.

When AfterAction Delay time passes, it will ping power1 again. A cycle finished.Fast testing: Select Power1 ENABLE in Ping webpage,192.168.168.168,and fill in 3,2,1,continue Reset. An wrong IP is OK for fast testing.

Note: When enable Ping function.,it is possible that user do not receive the e-mail sent from 9258 to advice 9258`s own .IP address as bandwidth limit. Please do not use Switchdelay function when enable Ping function. In webpage ”Setup”, the delayswitch is not relative with Ping function. The “delayswitch” in “ setup” page, is working on “setpower”.
